It is no longer news that rice produced locally by Nigerian farmers is full of stone pebbles and residents of the country have been left with few choices following the closure of land borders.
According to the Nigeria Farmers Group and Cooperative Society (NFGCS), this is so because of the unavailability of a proper de-stoning machine.
This was made known by the national coordinator of the group, Mr. Tedheke Retson who spoke with journalists at the NFGCS farm, Gaate, Nasawara State.
He then called on the government and Nigerians to invest in the local fabrication of de-stoning machines so as to tackle the problem.
